Sometimes it's just a whole lot easier said than done...

Another 3 weeks has now passed and not much has improved on the exercise front...at all. I took the boys down to Melbourne for 2 weeks to see Manel which was great of course, but it didn't really allow anytime for me given Jack didn't have kindy to go to and Manel was working very long hours. All I managed to do was one run per week. On top of that we caught up with a lot of friends and family and therefore ate a LOT of cakes, slices & naughty (but nice) food. I haven't eaten like that in a long time and it really turned my stomach upside down...which was actually quite interesting to see.

So we've now been back in Sydney for a week and while I haven't been able to get out and do a decent workout (apart from last Thursday with Jen at BBB - which was SO GREAT to get back to) I have gone for the odd walk around Centennial Park with friends. Personally, this doesn't really cut the mustard for me as a "workout" as I need to be out of breath, have muscles burning or be sweating to feel like I've done something worthwhile. That's just me though as I know that walking is still better than nothing.

It's been about 7 weeks since my last body composition scan and I can't imagine that much has changed since then given I haven't had much time to do adequate amounts of exercise. While it's annoying, sometimes it's just out of my control. At least I'm back to eating well...and my stomach is feeling a lot better for it!

My parents & brother will be back home later in the week after being overseas for a while and I cannot wait. I'm so looking forward to getting some help again so I can get out & work out....I hope they're equally looking forward to some time with my boys!!!!

What a feeling......

So I finally made it up early to walk/jog before the craziness of my day begins. It was quite simple in the end and I would never have thought it could have been possible. I wake 10 minutes earlier than normal and fit in 30 minutes of exercise, whilst Scott feeds Zara her breakfast. It’s a win win situation as he gets to spend more time with her and I get to spend more time with me. I do this three times a week, train twice a week with Jenny, on Saturday I go to the gym and Sunday is my day off. I have more energy overall and feel great that I get to do something for me. I suppose I shouldn't get too over confident with this routine as it has only been one week.

I also received the results of my second body scan and am happy to report that I have lost weight, which is a great achievement. I hope to loose more as I increase my exercise, I already feel stronger for it.

So if you are struggling with fitting in more exercise like I was have a chat with Jenny or the other ladies at training and see what they do. For example the UNSW gym & pool has a crèche which is great. There is a lot out there it’s just a matter of working out what fits in with your routine and your baby’s schedule (assuming they have one).
